Let’s face it: Halloween is one of the very best days of the year to have some fun and connect with the community at large. What could be better than setting up a quick trunk-or-treat in the showroom, or holding a costume contest? By getting into the “spirit” of the day, dealerships can create a positive experience for sales and service customers. Fact is, the day is a big spending event.
According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), spending on Halloween is expected to reach $8.4 billion – an all-time high. And here’s the point: All that costume and candy fun is, actually, trending away from the traditional neighborhood trick-or-treat. The NRF reports that “2016 represents the second-lowest reading for trick-or-treating (29.7 percent). This is not due to lack of celebrating, though. Community events such as parking lot “Trunk-or-Treating” and Halloween festivals are popping up across the country as alternative options.” So, if it’s not too late, put together some fun for Halloween.
